Webwallet Alert

Many of you may have noticed a change to your WebWallet account this week. If you’ve logged in you will have been prompted to begin the KYC verification process. If you haven’t logged in or were unsure why you were asked to do this please read on to find out why this is big news! The KYC process is something we need everyone to complete and not doing so will restrict your use of WebWallet.


What is KYC?

KYC or Know Your Customer is the process of verifying your identity on the network. It is a standard practice used by many financial institutions and banks and forms a crucial part of our mission to create the world’s most secure digital wallet.  Every WebWallet user needs to be KYC-authenticated ensuring not only the highest level of network security but that the foundations for working with existing financial regulations are in place. This will mean not only is WebWallet the world’s most secure digital wallet, it’s also future compatible with a huge range of global payment solutions and regulations. 

What do I need to do?

Head to WebWallet and log into your account. You’ll see a message at the top of your dashboard asking you to start the KYC process. Note: If you aren’t prompted to enter your details, you can begin the process in your Account Settings.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number
  • Country of residence
  • Full address and postcode 

After submitting your initial application a notice that reads 'pending’ may appear in the top right hand corner of your WebWallet dashboard. This means you will need to verify the information you have supplied with additional documents determined by your country of residence. These documents may include your national ID, driver’s license, a recent utility bill, Passport or birth certificate. To submit additional documents head to your Account Settings in WebWallet. Under KYC Authentication click ‘details’ in the Pending Validation section. Click Uploaded Documents and add your additional documents. Once these documents have been submitted the verification process will begin.


What if I don’t complete KYC?

If you don’t complete the verification process, you won’t be able to access the full range of WebWallet features. These include access to DasExchange and use of the Validator hardware device. It’s of the highest importance that we build a safe and trustworthy network together and completing KYC is an integral part of this process.

The Validator

Once you’ve completed the KYC process and your application is successful, you’ll be able to purchase and use the Validator hardware device.

The Validator allows you to store the private key to your DasCoin securely and validate transfers easily. It connects to any computer via USB and has an embedded OLED display to confirm each transaction with a single tap of its buttons.

Every user is required to use the Validator hardware device to access their funds, ensuring the safest possible experience for everyone on the platform.
